Why Is The Non-stick Pan Bulging in The Middle
Jul 10, 2016
Non-stick pans are very commonly used in households because they are not easy to stick when cooking and can save a lot of oil. Most non-stick pans are pans, and some non-stick pans can be used regardless of whether it is a gas stove or an induction cooker, which is very convenient. But some non-stick pans are raised in the middle. So why is this?
Usually, the center of the non-stick pan is basically made of aluminum. This non-stick pan can be used not only on the stove, but also on the induction cooker. There is a thin magnetic plate at the bottom of the pot, which is usually made of stainless iron. Therefore, it can be used on an induction cooker.
However, the magnetic sheet in the middle is not heat-resistant. And because it is relatively thin, the temperature during heating is higher than the temperature of the non-stick pan itself, it is prone to thermal expansion for a long time, and it will be deformed when placed for a long time. Moreover, when making non-stick pans, some recesses are made, and the appearance of using protrusions is more obvious.
What is the solution to the raised middle of the non-stick pan
The aluminum non-stick pan has a little bulge in the middle, but it does not affect normal use. If you want to use a pot that doesn't bulge in the middle, you can buy a pot made of stainless steel. If it didn't bulge before, but it bulged after cooking, you can use an iron hammer to block the iron plate. It can be knocked back but cannot be completely restored. If possible, you may wish to buy it again.
There are two reasons for the protruding middle of the non-stick pan, which may be due to the quality of the pan. When the pot is heated at a high temperature, the pot may become deformed. The higher the temperature, the more serious the color. If you don't want the pan to bulge, we can add oil or water before frying, and then start. The temperature of the bottom of the pot can be controlled, so it won't bulge out if you don't burn it dry.
Is the nonstick coating toxic?
The bottom of the non-stick pan has a non-stick coating, and the common materials are Teflon coating and ceramic coating. The ceramic coating is relatively safe, and the chemical properties of Teflon itself are very stable. However, ammonium perfluorooctanoate is used in the production of Teflon. The role of ammonium perfluorooctanoate is to firmly fix the Teflon coating on the surface of the kitchen utensils.
Ammonium perfluorooctanoate belongs to the 2B category of carcinogens, that is, animal experiments have shown a certain degree of carcinogenicity, but the impact on humans is uncertain and the evidence is insufficient.
However, most of the PFOA has been destroyed during the heating process in the manufacture of non-stick pans. Therefore, for qualified non-stick cooking utensils, as long as they are used reasonably, they are safe and will not harm human health.
